Lady Gaga attended the 88th Oscar Awards tonight (Feb. 28th) in Los Angeles, and performed her Oscar-nominated song Til It Happens To You, featured in The Hunting Ground and co-written by legendary singer-songwriter Diane Warren. Introduced by US Vice President Joe Biden – a long time supporter of rape survivors and bringing justice to the criminals that commit rape – and accompanied by around 50 survivors of rape on the stage, Gaga performed a powerful rendition of the song that was written to bring attention to the issue of rape, but particularly the reaction others have towards survivors when they come forward.
